:( think we are loosing our first emp :(

Hi all, we are pretty sure our first scorpion we ever bought is dying

He has been acting strangely over the last few weeks like just sitting out in the open not moving much not eating he only moves slighty when touched just a twitch really and today we found him like this







This last one I curled his tail up but it just fell down after I took the picture



He is still twitching slightly when touched but apart from that he is lifeless, this is sad he is the first scorpion we got, we have moved him to another container in case the female decides to come out and have a munch

How can you tell when they are truly gone??

Just to add he was purchased as adult so I'm guessing it's just old age we have had him about 2 months and has always been a bit slow and docile

gutted hun, nothing worse..... could be old age, im sure you given him a good life xXx

from the looks of it thats is an older specimen so its most likely old age
but it does happen when you get adults its better to get the smaller ones
they live longer and you can watch them grow for a few years

my second emperor female is currently on her way out too

im trying everything i can think of to make the death as easy as possible...
but mine looks exactly identical to your emp bex..
its even acting the same....
mines been acting that way for the last 2 odd weeks...

its really sad, im usually not so affected by the death of anything, but it bugs the crap out of me that i might lose her

I think ours has finally gone he is not moving at all now completely unresponsive

atleast its not a rare species thats realy hard to get
but it still sucks

Actually quite sad was hoping he would be a mate for our female, now really hoping she is gravid but if not will have to get another one lol

Hi we got ours from all over the place lol....We got our female emp from www.virginiacheeseman.co.uk, our male emp was from www.canterburyexotics.co.Uk our unknown fella we got from south east water gardens in sandwich Kent our h.madraspatensis we got from www.bugzuk.com and our yellow tails we went and caught ourselves from sheerness

Cool, where and how did you catch them in sheerness??

Sweet!! Gonna go check them out next week, only live 15 mins away, also spoke to lady in local pet shop and she reckons there is a colony near chatham doc's, but not sure which variety.

Oh right cool I've only heard of the one at sheerness dockyards be good if there are more colonies about, be sure to take a backlight or you will have no chance of seeing them, let us know how u get on we plan to go back up soon
