| hi all, just wondering if anyone feeds there beauties Maggots?? well i decided to make or grow my own, made from tub-a-ware, raw squid, saw dust. worked very well got plenty of blue bottles (flies) intrested, all layed plenty of eggs, anyway after a week i had plenty, i seperated them in a clean container with fresh fruit, becouse it doesnt smell as bad as fish. i decided to feed my emperor, dropped it in the tank in a few seconds it knew somthing was there, if only i had a camera it grabbed it by the pedipals and reversed back into its den. then few minutes later it came out like John Wayne with a white Cigar.... very funny and glad he was tucking in. plz comment or ask any question thnx | |

| ive not heard of anyone feeding maggots but i would guess (may be wrong) that they are quite fatty like mealworms so should prob only be fed on rare occasions if at all (as a treat) with more nutritious feeders such as crickets and locusts making up the main diet
also blue bottles can carry nasty germs so really not sure on this at all maybe wait for a more experianced person to reply ...there are plenty on here lol | |

| Scorps can take surprizingly large prey! If your emp eats the maggots and you are willing to breed them then go ahead and feed them. New born crickets are definitely to small for any size emp. Here is a small scorp(S.donensis) eating a big mealworm | |

| theres always wax worms they are bigger and they are softer that meal worms they are easy to keep and all that fun stuff as well
scott is right a scorpion can take down food 2-3 X its size it may or may not eat it all but it is now problem for a scorpion to take food bigger than it self
