| welcome to the site...
ok looks like an emp... if so here is some of what I see....
your viv needs 4-6" of substrate......they like to burrow the substrate should be moist...hum.. should be 80-90% is there a heat source? if it's a under tank heater it should be on the side not under...the viv should be 80+deg f....
...you might want to check out the care sheets they are full of great info.

| make the substrate deeper... and if you wanna keep it moist enough for the humidity, pour a glass, or even a half glass of water on the substrate... | |

| Agreed... substrate sohuld be 2/3 of the height to allow sufficient burrowing depth...
... I wish it was as easy to buy terrariums like that here in Malaysia...

| Looks better on the substrate and heater.
Might want to try to size down the photos to forum size. Will make things a lot easier.
I've found with lids like that, if you are having trouble holding heat or humidity, run out to a hardware store and have a peice of acryllic cut to rest on the top of your tank. Or just use some clingwrap and towels.

| actually the cling wrap wouldnt even be necessary...
covering 9/10ths of the lid with a thick towel works for me and it holds heat well in my 30 gallon, every other day i just move it back so that the airflow increases...usually at night

| Yeah, I sometimes use a towel too. It's easy and doesn't look that bad either. There are some nice looking smaller towels or you can use a small table cloth. | |

| I use a towel on the top too works really well.... As for the chinese swimming scorpions (lychas mucronatus) if yr in the uk you will need a dwa licenece as theyare in the bithidae family ..... We really wanted some but live in uk so a no go ( really really want them too) I don't know what the laws are everywhere else though | |

continuous exposure to a light like that will cause unnecessary stress...and inevitably a rapid decline in health... doing it randomly, say like for photo shoots, is a better idea...

| actually I have been reading up on black lights ( I have 2 running on my viv 24/7) mine are used for heat and light..... now there are 3 kinds of black lights..... if you get the florescent one most of the time it isn't a true black light it's what is referred to as a blb....... now the led black lights are a true black light and are very harmful because they give off uva uvb and uvc they are a true flue spectrum uv light....
On the other hand the florescent blb's are just a tented light....most blb's only give off very very small amounts of uvc which tends is the least harmful of all... it's the is less harmfull then the light you will get from a window with blinds on it.....
