4i to 5i emp

well i just peeked in on my baby emp and its molting in its burrow..
the last molt was...june 1st 2010
and now its sept 13, 2010

i really wish there was a way i could go into the burrow and get the molt (i saved the other from 3 months ago)

(lol i was right binks, it was premolt)

Soz im a noob and dont know much about emperors. How many instars do they have before becoming an adult?

typically 7 instars

Yeah it varies....but a max of 7.

i hate not having a memory card reader or the cord for my camera...
theres a perfect little peek hole into the burrow. i know i could get a pic or 2...

it looks like a very clean molt =)

i didnt think of that...

i can take a pic of the molt, but i cant even see the baby in the burrow anymore and my phone cam probably wouldnt get a good shot of the burrow...

wow i cant wait for mine to moult, as im a noob ive not seen yet, only ever seen a snake shed.... do the moults stay in one piece & do you need to preserve them in any way if you want to keep them?

as long as the humidity is right, the molt should go perfect...
both of the molts from this baby have been perfect so far...
i dont know about preserving them?
3 months ago when it molted i just put the molt in a glass jar i had with a cork lid...
and now both are in there...

(oh and if it looks like the 3 month ago molt is in 2 pieces, it is...that was my error lol)

my snake skin stay in one piece.. but I just take them out of his tank and put them on top of his tank....

wonder if a spray lacquer or just hairspray might preserve them ...like make them hard?

6i for males, 7i for females.

Most of the molts don't show much of a difference in size, but a couple in particular 4i-5i definitely shows a size increase Smile

Nice, did it match the expectancy dates?
