| Quick question where is the best place to put yr humidity/temp gauge obviously away from the heat sorce but how high above the substrate should it be? and we dont have a digital one its dial. | |

| are you sure it works at all, cause most people have bad luck with with an analog humidity gauge... | |

| well it goes up and down lol but wether is accurate or not i have no idea? should it be quite near the substrate ours is sort of half way up the terrarium from substrateto to the top..... suppose we should go for digital if they are that bad | |

| i have two humidity meters in my tank and one is near the bottom. In my opinion its the best place to put it because scorps spend all thier time on the ground. But the one up high gives a lower reading so for more accuracy put them nearer the substrate. But if you are using a heat lamp it will mess with the humidity meter but the humidity will be fine. I tested this by turning the light off and then the meter read 80%. But you will have to water the substrate more frequently. (assuming your housing tropical scorpions). as was said it is recommended to use a digital hydrometer and the analogue ones will loose accuracy over time. | |

| ok thanx will move it closer to the bottom and look into getting a digital one if it doesnt work well | |

| As the others said above, the dial ones do move but are very inaccurate. To be honest, you don't really need a hygrometer with this species as the watering of the substrate will give you about 80% everytime.

| just enough so its damp to the touch not so its a bog but dont spay it literally dump water from a cup in there. Its difficult to get the right amout in there but you will get used to it. | |

| Just cover as much of the substrate surface as you can to go a darker shade. | |
