| Is he dragging his tail? If so that's a bad sign. Check around him (especially the pectines) for little mites. they can often be the cause of stress. | |

| i cant see any mite and there is no sign of them in the tank. he has been like this for a couple of hours now and hes been sluggish all week. Do you think he could be in a very heavy premoult | |

| It's possible. Is he dragging his tail along when he does move? | |

| when he did move yeah. But he has a wall he likes to climb so when he climbed on there i could litteraly swing his tail and he wouldent notice. just before he completely stopped responding to any thing he pulled his claws in towards his face and he struggled doing so. | |

| Unfortunately it doesnt sound good. A scorpion dragging its tail is indication of a serious problem. It could just be a heavy molt though, as you say. Im inexperienced myself, so wait for Binksy, Laioticus or other more experienced member of the forum to reply. Shouldnt be long. Binksy is usually on the ball | |

| doesn't sound great. it could be hundreds of things and is next to impossible to know whats up unless it does something. for example, it could be something its last meal ate, deodorant, mites, something fell on it, it fell on something, etc, etc. does it look pre-moult?? (hugely fat). good luck but it doesn't sound like good news. | |

| its not fat but he is larger than normal. hes not eaten and been sluggish for about a week he has been non responsive for about 12 hours and he doesn't smell like a dead scorp but what do you think the chances are of him dying? | |

| brutal honest irritating truth?? he probably wont live. a moulting scorp is enormously fat so its unlikely to be that. is it the scorp in your account picture jobbie? if so its adult and that opens up a load of other options. | |

| If its that long (4.3 inches) then it's most likely an adult and sounds like its dying of old age.
Just keep an eye on it and see how it gets on.
Make sure the tank is warm and humid - sometimes they make a "recovery". | |
