| I came across that page a little while ago. I didn't spend much time on it because it's almost as if not as frustrating as Kari McWest's website.
it's one of those things that not only breaks the laws of desktop publishing but also functional web design - it could just be me but I'm really testy when it comes to writing and web design

Owtch! Yeah, well, the truth hurts. I never claimed the site wasn't a total hack-job POS (which I initially wrote, I should add, in vi (then re-did in vim), while shelled in so, uhm, such is life. Then, one fateful day (if memory serves), I was dumb enough while at work (during an off-moment -- honest) to pull it into some heinous WYSIWYDG editor, which fux0red it up nicely, thanks. Clearly, I haven't had the time (nor energy, lately) to un-hose it, although doing some w/even a few perl one-liners would do wonders for W3C compliance (not to mention tidying the markup and, undoubtedly, making it somewhat less 'user-hostile' than it is at present); it's not that I don't care: I'm just a slave to SubGenius Time Addiction [tm]. Well, that, and The Man (but who's counting?). That said, say what you like about Kari McWest's website, but the man is a SERIOUSLY knowledgeable who makes me look like a no-nothing by comparison. - Quote :

In light of the fact that I have the Pride of Satan, I suppose I *should* take offense at these scathingly accurate comments. Hah! Sorry -- seriously, though: I'm not disagreeing with you, unless you are, in some way, intimating I'm incapable of writing coherent English; I would most vehemently dispute that point, if so. SO: we agree that, in short, my site sucks (presentation/W3C compliance-wise/Navigability-wise); no arguments there. If your definition of my site's suckitude is taken to include the information stated there (not merely presentation of said information), well, I think I can adequately argue that point. While typos (could) abound, the fact is, writing sans proofing/editing/spellchecking is kinda my forte (if you'll excuse the vernacular neologism). Oh -- and if you have any complaints about my photographic talents (n.b.: I have none), please send all negative commentary in that regard directly to /dev/null (actually, if you want to get creative, make sure you do it in such a way as to render it a writable file). ;> Regards, ~JMB -- Post Scriptum: - Quote :

If you're daring to volunteer Webmastering/Systems Administration skills in the service of Scorpion-related sites, I've been trying to get someone to populate any of a number of domains which I acquired (many of them some time ago) related to scorpions, including but not limited to: ANDROCTONUS.COM/NET/ORG CENTRUROIDES.COM/NET/ORG PARABUTHUS.COM/TRANSVAALICUS.COM [...] You get the picture. I've also got BARKSCORPION(S).COM et al, and originally had the notion of putting up caresheets/pictures/information about each genus/species as time permitted. Tempus is fugiting (even now), as always, and after the oldest server is replaced, there will be one box which is "minimum security" (e.g., SFTP and multi-factor authentication only, etcetera etcetera) which I could allow people that haven't been subjected to rigorous scrutiny by the Powers That Be have access to for web-publishing, so, again, be careful what you wish for... Contact me for more information if interested, just don't be offended if my turnaround time is slow (and sporadic, at best, due to pesky 'RL' concerns & such). ~JMB
