| They sound like baby crickets! You may have left a female cricket in there too long and she laid eggs. I'm pretty sure that they wont harm your scorps. | |

| I really don't want to leave mog and gil in a deli container for the night, as I have to leave for work at 1am.. I was unable to get to the pet store before it closed.. Are they gonna be alright untill tommorow in there? They each have their own. | |

| White stuff on the claws could be poo, and the baby crickets, known as springtails should be removed unless you have done so already. | |

| Springtails are harmless and are actually good for things as they break down organic matter...like poop and cricket remains. Don't freak out. | |

| I thought the name for babycrickets was pin heads, not spring tails? When I look up springtails they cause alot moreanxiety for me then pinheads. | |

| You are correct. Baby crickets are pinheads and springtails are something else entirely. Springtails WILL NOT harm your scorps. I haven't had a scorpion tank yet that hasn't gotten springtails eventually. They will just break down the mold/bacteria/ organic "stuff" that is extra in your tank and will leave your scorpion alone. They shouldn't cause you any anxiety...if that is what you have. You can change your substrate if it makes you happy, but most like, if it was springtails, you will just get them again in a few weeks. They hitch a ride in on your feeders and then multiply in the warm, moist environment. | |

| Springtails are creatures that have the magicaly ability to appear in your tank without reason, really small springy white guys, they are harmless and will clean up your tank for you, eat dead crickets and stuff like that, i personally use tropical pillbugs in my tanks. Works like a charm If you got baby crickets in there, No reason to be on your toes these wont harm your scorpion as for adult crickets they are mostly harmless unless your scorp just had a molt. If you dont feel like changing the "bedding" of your tank, you can leave a good size waterdish in there, Crickets are so dumb they will drown them self in it i have done that a couple of times.. | |

| Well, I looked up springtails and there was a diagram, they look nothing like what is, was, in my tank. I am in the middle of soaking new substrate right now. What caused me the anxiety was the numbers in the tank.
I am also going to start using water instead of that gel stuff.. Just waiting for the tank to heat up a bit before mog and gil go back home.

| I had a very similar problem, only i wasn't so lucky, i had 2 baby Emps and 1 was covered in the white stuff, my scorpion later died, i went online and was told that some food ie crickets or hoppers contain mites, so all dead food should be removed as fast as possible to stop these mites from annoying or even killing the Scorpion. | |
