uh oh!! mites??

i looked in my cage and there are these little white looking dots moving around in my cage but i have not yet seen them on niether one of my emps are these mites does anyone no? are they dangerouse to my scorpions please help thanxxx..

IDK but if I were you I would get my scorps out asap. Clean out and disinfect the whole thing. put new substrate hides and clean water dish.

If they are running about, then they are probably good mites and nothing to worry about.

yeah one scorpion was out most of the night how do you tell if they are good mites thanx for the impute its very helpfull

Bad mites = Miniscule, white, cluster in huge numbers and stick to scorpion and don't move.

Good mites = Tiny, orangish, tear-drop shaped if you look close enough, run about and feed on decomposing food and bad mites.

Definitely predatory mites you've got there. Nothing to worry about.

They're also great backup if you find bad mites on another scorp, 'cause you can move these guys (fine paintbrushes work well) into the infested scorp's tank as biocontrol.
