HELP i cant make him eat..

Ok here is the problem. i got an Emperor scorpion 3 weeks ago. its sting is brown red so i think he is adult. when he came he ate 2-3 crikets and a couple of meal worms within 6 days. but since that time he hasn't been eating.. he actually afraids of food avoids even the touch if these get in his house. and last few days that i've been trying to push the crickets close to him he pushes them back. and about the dubia he didsn't even cared for them... so i dont know what to do..

He's just not hungry. Try again in a week because you've already fed him a quite a lot. They only eat like 2-3 times a week or even less. Don't worry, mine hasn't eaten in over a month, but is still active and comes out every now and then.

Just relax Scorpions don't actually eat that much, they use very little energy so don't actually need to feed very often. 3 weeks is really not that much time for a scorpion not to eat, especially if it's already had a good meal of a couple of crickets and mealworms like yours did. My scorpion only eats once every couple of months and looks plump and healthy

So just offer him something every week or so and if he doesn't want it then take it out and try again in a 1/2 weeks time, If it's an adult there's no way he will starve in that time!

Don't panic. Emperors will fast from time to time. Also, each time you feed him, you're feeding too much, just give him a cricket or two and that'll be fine.

(Note: Emperors can go a year without eating)

Yea i have 3 emperors and i only feed them 1 cricket each every other day. Gotta feed them tonight. Then i wont feed again untill Friday.

If you're not sure about when to feed them.
If they are thin = feed
If they are fat = don't feed

A couple of crickets a week, if accepted, is what i do.

Do you poke at it alot? Is he skittish?

lol don't poke at it just look at there sides. When i first wake them up and decide i'm going to hold them yes they are skittish. Once i get him on my hand though, i can pet his tail.. don't even dare touching anywhere else.

Try and reduce the amount of handling you do to once every few months.

Every now and again is fine, but regular handling can be very detrimental.

And if your going to try and handle, attempt at night when they come out of there hide. Don't pull up the hide or remove it.

dont worry about it mate, my emps havent eaten in like 3 months lol and my flat rock hasnt eaten since i got him

thats crazy dude i have had mine for only about 3 weeks or so and they eat everything i throw at them.

so does mine...she just ate up 4 out of 6 crickets tonight

well he looks more thin now... i dont handlle him at all... but i did change his nest... well i hope he eats today' ill guiive him some dubia..

The advice you've been given is good so far. If a scorp doesn't eat, A) don't panic (see signature) and B) try again in a week.

I've seen so many of these threads come up . . . I'd really like to find the idiot who put "feed daily" on Petco's caresheet and smack him upside the head.
