For those of you who don't know or weren't around, Tragedy Ann is one of my H. lividums. She's been a psycho since I got her back in February and it hasn't helped that I've rehoused her a few times as space allowed. When I got her, she had 7 legs; she now has 8 thanks to her last molt. At any rate, I used to just dump crickets in her enclosure and if she wanted them, she'd eat them and if not, she'd let them crawl all over her. She's in a 10gal now with the substrate designed like a hill, 4"+ deep at one end and less than an inch at the other. At first, she was refusing to stay on the ground, as if she were arboreal or something, so I went and got her an aquarium hide you know, the ceramic hides for fish to swim in one hole and out another - this hide looks like the top half of a skull when sitting on top of the hill. It took her a few days but she finally went back down to earth and after a couple weeks, finally started digging again. She's got the hole that faces the front all webbed up and the one that faces the wall open. So, this is our deal....she hangs out at the open hole and I hand feed her (w/hemostats of course) when she's hungry and she webs up that hole; she tears down the webbing and hangs out when she wants more. We've been going back and forth like this for the past couple days, I think we're friends now. I'd post pix but I haven't the means to take pix other than my old camera phone and that requires using a program to hack the photos out of the phone just to post them so I'm not going to waste my time for some 1.3mp pix. I just thought I'd share this with everyone. I also have decided that, Ducky, my A. avic is way awesome - it lets me hand feed it too but is actually very nice to hold and doesn't shoot fecal matter like most Avics.
