Stingy Will Die Soon

I thought the other day that she was walking rather slow. Well Ive just seen her walking about the tank, slow and with her tail out flat. She will probably be dead by the end of the week
It's such a shame because I was hoping to put two of the babies I will keep back in with her when they hit maturity. I guess that isnt a option now

Do you think it has been a temp drop that's killed her? Before I had her on orchid bark *yes I know it was wrong but when I went to change it, she gave bith* with the heat mat under the substrate.
Well since taking the babies out she has been on plantation soil with the heat mat outside the tank and on the side. She was always hugging the glass. But now she is walking slowing and with her tail down. But! now her tail is up again, I know they poop with it down but...no poop trailed behind her and besides she likes to wipe it on the glass!

*sighs*

Its such a shame. I know she is WC and age is always unknown in adult scorpions...not long after giving birth too!

She is still walking about the tank. Im thinking maybe she is uncomfortable as I cant keep the humidity up but I havent seen her drinking. *sighs* Will give it another spray if she hides herself as dont want to get her.
Im just talking it out really. Im sure soon she will be gone.

I don't think a temperature drop would have done it -- emps are pretty hardy and can easily survive brief (but significant) drops in temperature.

If you want to up the humidity just dump some water on the substrate.

I hope she does ok for a while longer in your care.

She is still roaming about the tank, but not as agile anymore. Really slow and not really able to move about like she could.
I havent even had her a year yet!!!

I dont think it's the temps but try to kick the tempeture up to 90F and keep the humidity the same. That might help.

90 would involve our bedroom being a sauna! its already roasting in there *wipes brow*
I will pour some water in, in a little bit but as she hasnt been in the water bowl, I dont think its a humidity problem.

She just seems to have no energy and walking really slow. Will have to wait and see but I think the end is coming up

ok, so wednesday she happily caught and ate a cricket. thats a good sign right?

She is currently having a wash! first time of seeing this and wow, she is taking a long time on one part of her body. I like how she puts her saliva onto her chela and then "legs" it off and moves it onto the outside of her chela. very cool...unless this focus on one area means irritation?
Never seen her wash before! and she taking a long time doing it. very cool to see this!

they usually take quite a long time grooming themselves. I always find it fascinating to watch.

I was watching for about 20 minues and then my knees started to hurt!
I wonder if she is onto the next part yet haha

the cool part comes when they use they metasoma to scrub they mesosoma i have seen B.jacksoni do this servel times

Sounds like she's still doing OK then.

yeah im shocked again! not seen her walking walking about but she has been active, eating and cleaning! A good sign but obviously dont know if death is still on its way

Stingy hasn't died YET. It sounds like she just went through a bit of a lethargic period.

Stingy is still very much alive...or so she seemed last night with her "bum" in the air pressed to the glass for the warmth! *rolls eyes* the room was hot enough!
I havent fed her for two weeks but will feed her tomorrow night and see what happens.
But she still seems to be going strong which has really shocked me since when the male behaved the same way he died a week later!

I do too. but she is a fasting grrl so I dont worry. Not after 4 months of fasting, then eating 2 small crickets, 2 months of fasting and then POPPED and babies!

I no longer worry about a fasting Imperial...apart from the babies....who are moulting
