surely you could tell from all the "aye"ing LOL! no its not legal to bring any into the uk from any other country unless you have permission (like a supplier for a pet shop or something) but if you do accidentally drop some into your suitcase please dont post about it here (if you have a problem or question about them then say you bought them!) i honestly think you would mostly find buthids which you wont be able to keep if you do bring back... i would guess there may be some euscorpius species though and them you wouldnt be i much trouble about...and i think there are some other non buthids but they all tend to be small fast things... best stop talking about illegaly smuggling scorps now or the thread may be closed...

best stop talking about illegaly smuggling scorps now or the thread may be closed... Thank you scorpio. More or less what I was about to say. As for legally importing things, check with the department of fish and wildlife (or equivalent) for the relevant countries. You would probably need some special paperwork to legally declare them at customs. (I emailed the USDFW about importing / exporting scorps and they directed me to all the necessary paperwork, but it's not really useful for the average traveler.)

| Well, still, it's best to go through the legal channels rather than smuggling something in your luggage. | |

| ^^ agreed! honestly it's probably better to go for a photo hunt, and get any scorps you can through postal services...i know catching them and bringing them home would be a massive thrill, but maybe check with customs or something and find out what the rules are. there are probably lists of what can and can't be brought back in a plane through normal customs... and alternately there could be a few hoops to jump through that make it possible! if you check you might find out it's fine to bring back one or two non DWA species... just theorising but maybe go to the customs website wherever that is and check. | |
