| I'm Receiving 0.0.2 2i Rhopalurus Junceus in the mail thanks to a fellow Canadian Plits but i could not find a definate showing of what their early enclosure should look like. I don't really like the idea of small tupperware containers so this is what I thought up from what i know about the species. hand is for size comparison. Classic Eco earth substrate, was maybe thinking of adding some exo terra i have to keep a corner with a bit more humidity for molting. Disinfected cork bark, no pesticides and inspected for larvae of pine beetles and such (live in BC and those are a big problem here). Anything else I should know? Any ideas? or is this perfect/good enough. | |

| Yeha they look pretty good enclosures man. Will the vents in the top retain enough humidity? | |

| I was especially lookin for tanks that had small vent holes in the top, as you can see from the open lids theres alot of area with no vents so it should, if not ill just saran wrap or duct tape one side of the vents and it should be fine. | |

| I got them from a local mom&pop pet store called Animal House in Kamloops, BC, Canada. they were about 6 bucks each, good deal imo. should be good enough to keep the 2 juvies until they are old enough to get along.

| 2I are going to be TINY -- those enclosures look too large, and they're likely to escape through the vents.
I would suggest something along the lines of a 40-dram vial (about 1.5" diameter base, 3" tall) with a couple of small holes poked and a piece of bark leaning against the side.
And NEVER use duct tape to restrict ventilation -- you're just going to find scorps stuck to it eventually.
I highly suggest adding moisture to the substrate rather than restricting ventilation, anyway.

| How bout putting a divider in the middle of one of them? I'm sure i can rig something up that can split one in half. | |

| In most cases, dividers work very poorly at keeping scorps separate. I'd still be worried about them getting out through the vents. | |

| i measured the vents, they are less than 1 millimetre wide compared to my other tanks which have 1.5 millimetre vents. Would a 2i R.Junceus even be able to fit 1 claw through it let alone his entire body if it somehow managed to get up there? and is there a huge downside of having an enclosure a tad too big for the scorpion? I like to "hand" feed my scorpions most of the time so it's not like it'll be having a tough time trying to find its food. | |

| If the vents are that small, it may work . . . and yeah, never finding prey was the main disadvantage I was thinking of.
If you want to use those tanks, I'd suggest double-tanking them (putting them both inside a spare larger tank) just in case one does make it out the vents.

| Yea, I currently house my two 2I P.Imperators in half of a decent sized plastic tank seperated from the oher side with a fitted divider so theres enough room to put both of those smaller tanks into the bigger one. Was just using that side to store cricket feed and gel and such. But thanks for the input i'll be receiving the little ones on about the first or the day before after my vacation, i'll post pics as soon as they arrive. | |
