| very nice! Kuma, did you get that longimanus from the spider shop? been trying to ID them for sure, there seems to be some doubt that they're longimanus... as for madraspatensis, that's fast becoming a favourite of mine | |

| Yep I got them from the spidershop, they are pretty certain they are longimanus as i had a lengthy conversation with them about them being sexual dimorphic and stuff, also told me that some scorpions can become sexually mature before thier last moult! This was news to me!
BTW the nice guys that they are, they have sent out a new one to replace my dead one, female and may be gravid. | |

| that's all good about the replacement!! just saying, cause someone else got pics of theirs (same source as you and me)...posted them on here, and was promptly told they weren't longimanus, maybe cyaneus. having looked at some taxonomic drawings in Scorpions of Medical Importance by Keegan, which luckily has very detailed drawings of each, they do look a bit more like cyaneus than longimanus...(though i'm told there's another that's often mistaken for them, petersi?) however, i'm far from an expert (pretty much a newb!), and that book may be superseded by now in this regard! i know some of the other taxonomic stuff has changed, for example. but hey, the book was a fiver at the show the spidershop however does do its best to get ID right, so usually good to assume they're right | |
