are mouldy hides harmful to scorpions? i would guess yes but maybe i'm wrong.

Yep mold is harmful to a lot of living animals I would get new hides.

A little bit of mold isn't a problem. I see little bits of fungal growth along hides and it's nothing to worry about -- it's not like the stuff that takes over your food.

If you're concerned just clean it off and re-sterilize the hide to kill any remaining spores.

i belive Penicillin was made from moldy bread.. Mike allso said in a differnt topic that scorpions proably meet mold in nature as well, but as long as it doesnt fill up the whole tank, nothing to worrie about.. plus there proably 100000 differnt mold types you can get inside your tank, but there is no need to panic just because you see some mold, just remove it and thats it.. Very Happy

Thanks guys. I have removed the hide becausee it was totally covered in that stuff.(even the inside), i now only have one hide in that particular yank but am getting another one tomorrow.

You can run it over with boiling water and just scrub it off, that will most likely kill it and remove it then you can re-use it.. if your getting hides from the outside, forests and stuff you should bake or boil the stuff before using it..
