i'd say Scolopendra subspinipes dehaani , imo they are more hardy and alittle more forgiving to unideal husbandry practices....as far as a set-up goes, usually a tall jar suits smaller specimens well... though for larger individuals, i use 10gal taller cages with deeper sub...

They molt like any other arthropod. S. subspinipes are a lot more "scary" than other centipedes. As far as container size, 10 gallons isn't really necessary. They'll usually spend most of their time curled up in one small hide.

they molt but usally eat their molt, so seeing it is pretty hard... which almost makes you think they just grow....as far a small hides??? we have to remember many tropical pedes like surface area, rather then cramped quarters. all of mine move about their set-ups at night, soo imo i accommodate that natural instinct.....for temporary set-ups yes but for larger pedes(for me anyways)i'd still go 10 gal...i've gotten eggs and have yet to have a pede die on me...
