P. villosus is the largest buthid, as far as i know. females grow up to 18cm (7inch), my adult females are ~13-14cm (5.5inch), males ~10cm (4 inch), much bigger than my P. transvaalicus. i don't know exactly, how venomous the are and i don't wanna figure that out by myself! i treat em as potential lethal, just as every other buthid. even if it's not the strongest venom, they carry an enormous amount of it in their giant telson! | |

| great pix! have you seen them spray venom or use it's telson to dig yet? that would make for some good pix or video. I hope you're wearing safety goggles when opening their enclosure. if in the event you get scorplings and decide you'll ship to the states let me know - we don't see enough of them here stateside. | |
