Hello! This is my first post here, just found the site yesterday and I'm loving it!

The following pictures are of my Het spinnifer gal who gave birth 1/12/09 to a massive amount of little scorplings. These are pics that I just took about 30mins ago. I know there are at least 20, but i'm sure it's probably more around 25-30 as I just now noticed there are more hanging around the base of her tail and her stomach! They are 10 days old and still in 1st instar, so hopefully within the next week they'll molt and I can separate them and get an accurate count to report back with! I plan to raise them communally until they are old enough to rejoin their mommy Very Happy

Try not to disturb them too much till hey come off mommys back

Very nice! Are you sure that's H. spinifer? The chela and telson shape make me think of H. longimanus.

and spinifer / longimanus do seem to get confused in the hobby a lot

ooh you are very lucky! my heterometrus female died sadly. I didnt need to rehome the babies with her when they were older as they are...or were still in with mum at 3I and no problems the only problem was mum randomly dying last week
I hope you dont have the same problem.
