hi guys,this is my 6-inches centipede..
is this the cherry red centipede?


it had an injured tail..reason unknown because this specimen was wild caught..
anw,it looks awesome under camera flash lights

Sure looks like the one I had...but dont take my word for it I'm the scorp expert. Seek out Cacoseraph in AB or SCABIES.

It's possible . . . but if I recall, the "cherry red" morph of Scolopendra subspinipes didn't have the banding. But I could be wrong.

Either way, it's a beautiful specimen.

thanks thanks i just wanna check out the sp,also to check whether the tail is regrowing or not...

It should regenerate the terminal leg after its next molt. These guys can even regenerate lost antennae segments.

yea,i was being told that molting can regenerate everything,but i believe this guy is not going to molt anymore...

he already reached 6 inches..

I believe centipedes continue to molt throughout their lives. Only scorpions and "advanced" insects cease to molt upon reaching maturity.

i had bunch of them[at least 5inch],dunnoe whether can sell them or not..

yea,i caught it..this guy is very agressive..
i have two initially,unfortunately one died due to cannibalism..

awwww, that sucks.

I think hobbyists would buy them. A good-sized one like that could sell for 30-40 USD. The trouble is a lot of customers may be in the US and shipping animals internationally gets kind of tricky.
