Do you consider them pets?

Just curious how many here consider their scorps, and other exotics pets.

Personally I consider my two emps pets, as well as my Chinese water dragon. They are not however, the same type of pet, as I would consider a cat or dog.

However, when it comes to my landlord, I consider them "living decor" because no "pets" allowed.

In my opinion, I could never consider a living thing I'm taking care of as less than a pet, and more like a collection. But can see how others can, because you can't exactly snuggle up with your scorpions.

I got too many to call them pets, i call them Pests hehehe naaa i consider it more of a hobby and not pets..

I dont think I have ever referred to them as pets, always called them my collection.

I also refer to them as "the collection."

Definately pokemon, Tenacious always sits on my shoulder and fights the evils of the world with her mighty thunder...claw... gun...

For me its my pets are my Hobby and my hobby is my pet. Weather it be ferret, cat, Fish, lizard or scorpion.

My mom calls my ferrets the grand kids and the scorpions are the gross things that have babies.

I tend to call them "pets" just to add to the "shock factor"

I just call them "the scorps" I don't really think of them as "pets"... I personally think pets are things you can play with, fetch, etc. like a dog!

nah a dog is more of a companion lol

my dog has never fetched in its life and it aint going to learn now! lazy...
anyway... the first two emps were pets but everything invertibrate after that is "the collection".

and then I'll respond with

Hahaha yeah! I also tell them that I pet them; I do with my one emp and sometimes my B. jacksoni

I generally don't call them my pets unless someone asks me what pets do I have.

I consider our cat a family member, our reptiles pets and my invertebrates a hobby.
I get a lot more connected to our cat or reptiles,than I get to invertebrates. "Study object" might also be a good word for the invertebrates.

I dont like my cat at the moment
shes called lucifer and she hasnt been spayed so shes wlking round being very verbal and keeps presenting at me

We've got a six-month-old siamese who hasn't gone into heat yet -- I'm hoping the fact that she's so tiny keeps that from happening for a while.
