My critter kids.

Sense I don't have my scorps just yet I figured I would go ahead and share all my animals.

A parrot!

Yeah, she'll be two in March...I got her when she was 6 weeks old.

I work at a local pet store and work only with parrots all day, we have around 40 parrots at any given time. I got some great pics of my "pet store" babies...when I buy a house I'll be bringing home 3 Macaws.

Someone loves animals....don't worry i have a zoo too.

It's a good thing I have some self control or else I would be up to my ears in animals!

we used to have an african grey but it died of old age, it was my grandads long before i was born, and also welcome to the forum

After seeing them shear through almond husks in Costa Rica, I'd be hesitant to put my finger anywhere near a macaw's beak.

Yeah when they want they can do some damage but Ethel just loves to have my finger in his mouth and sometimes I get a nice little handful of seed pulp. Even though it's kinda gross it means they love you!

The big perk from working at the pet store is when we get baby birds in that need to be fed more thn 3 times a day I get to bring them home at night...so it's like getting to have a new pet...but then when they get old enough I have to give it back

Do any of your birds talk to you? That would be awesome. Personally, I've never owned any birds aside from pigeons and ducks and my parents used to own a privately-owned pet store back in the day

The birds talk to me all the time! Elmo, my Grey, will come find me and then ask "Whatcha' Doing?". When he is in his cage and he want to come out he will start yelling "ELMO COME HERE" at me. The Greys have the IQ of a 5 year old and most other parrots have the IQ or a 2 year old...and it shows. Some of the things Elmo does is unbelievable it's so smart.

Hahaha...everyone calls me the Bird Lady, be it some call me the "crazy" bird lady!

cool! there was a Mackaw at the shoppe a few weeks back, the owners, and it talked like a sailor. funny as hell.

Haha! Yeah we have 2 macaws at the store that know how to say a few "colorful" words but thankfully he doesn't say them very often. I have a mouth on me, but I watch it around Elmo...I don't need him asking me "where the [bad word here] is my [more bad words] cracker" ! Hahahahaha!

Lmao, he would tell people to <edit>-off when they came in the store. quite alot of people were actually offended. he's out the store now anyway.

It's sad though when birds learn bad words because they live soooooo long (50+years) many of them out live the original owners and there are a lot of horror stories of things that have happened to some of these birds that had dirty mouths told by people that were able to save them. I've heard of people leaving them for dead in houses when they move because of language issues, and the stories get worse from there.

Wow, I need to get my hands on that book. there is also an online dictionary of something simmilar.
