What are we getting?!?!?!?!

Right a friend of ours is sending us a 'freebie' tarantula. Should hopefully arrive today.

All we know is that it needs a large enclosure, so it's an adult and to watch our fingers!!

Waiting for the postman is KILLING ME! i'm dying to find out what it is!
But the lad wont tell us and said it's a surprise! So i'm going to have to run into town this afternoon as soon as we know what it is to get substrate etc etc.

Running to get substrate and stuff is the funnest part. When I worked at a pet store I used to get my package and bring it with me so I knew the exact size of enclosures and could show it off to my friends.

You'd think he could at least tell you if you had to hold your breath (new-world) or strap on your body-armor (old-world).

Now I'm all curious and excited!!

well you know the ornithoctonus Aureotibialis that we got that wasn't. It was something else but were not entirely sure what.

Well this time we HAVE an O.Aureotibialis sp. 'Nankorn' Adult female and she is absolutely beautiful, Very dark but she has that gorgeous orange sheen down the sides of her legs which you get on the O.Aerotibialis. Something the other one didn't have. And looking rather well fed!

Unfortunately I couldn't get a good picture of her tonight. will try tomorrow if she hasn't burrowed.

compared to the other one she is pretty big. needless to say we're well chuffed!
