oh my god that was close!

recently i was playing with my geckos so i decided it was getting late and i was tired so put them back in there cage then i remembered oh i have a scorpion so i took him out real quick and after i played with him i put him back......as normal right?........ka klink i jumped up and i looked in the gecko cage and saw that i misplaced my scorpion in the gecko cage!!!!!!..............oops....... i ran torwards the cage and saw that my tokay gecko had been staring down my emperor scorpion and the tokay gecko tryed to attack the scorpion!! i pulled the scorpion out of the cage and checked both of them for any injuries and lucky me there both fine!!! thats what happened when i got tired!

but then again you also let your animals mix because they are "so nice and tame"...so why were you worried? you always say your gecko is nice....

I'm not going to have a whole lot of sympathy here, because any invertebrate hobbyist should pay attention to what he's doing and only deal with specimens when alert enough to do so competently. An emperor would be a tasty crunchy treat to a tokay.

Lesson learned: don't handle anything when tired or drunk (same effect). After a couple months of experience, handling loses its novelty anyway, so there's no real point to it with scorps (aside from demos for people). They're not going to get "used" to it the way a reptile can.

Thats true!
Handlings get's boring, and you see no point at handling scorps after a few months anyways, and the scorpions dont enjoy get handled

yea.. ive seen people looked down upon and insulted for accidentally leaving the door slightly open on ther leopard gecko cage. most of them dont ever go back to those forums. this is the only forum where i have never seen it happen.

thats because we are all more mature on here, even you two our youngest members are very knowledgable and mature so we never really have a need to tell anybody off
plus with it been a smaller forum none of us are trying to make a name for ourselves by being horrid.

On big forums you always get somoeone with 12 posts that is a reaaaaaal jerk just to get a reputation

Ok ya made a mistake, everyone bodges up at some point. so long as you learn from it thats the main thing.
