| I would say yes it is true. Ive had a scorpion go 4 months without a feed and ive read before someone had a scorpion go 6 months without a feed, so a year sounds like it could happen to me. They arent like you or me or cats and dogs. They dont "need" daily feeding. We normally all feed our scorpions about once a week, maybe 1-2 crickets each. Sometimes a locust or hopper. But sometimes all they need is that 1 cricket to last them 2 months. I know mine have before and also temps and humidity have been correct. People worry so much about scorions not feeding. The can be full, in pre moult or even gravid. So yes they can go, in my eyes as long as they want to go without feeding. hehe but that doesnt mean that we dont attempt to feed them at least once every 2 weeks. | |

| i reckon they could but i think theyd be a lil weak after, altho saying that iv noticed that when not feedin some lay there in sort of lik a state of sleep so id imagine that slows down the metabolism a lot | |

| I would never try it. But if the scorpion is refusing food, its their "choice" and not because I was refusing them food on purpose. | |

| well yeah then it would be unavoidable, but do you think on would go that long willingly, i guess in the wild its a possibility, but i dont think one would stop eating for so long in captivaty, unless there keeper stops feeding | |

I have offered food weekly to my Iomachus Politus and for 2 months she refused to eat. She finally ate 2 weeks ago a small cricket and ooh guess what...the fast again *rolls eyes*Everything is fine and as it should be in her tank. Its not a case of the owner not feeding, its a case of the scorpion not eating even though food is provided | |

| I feed all my inverts ranomly to avoid fasting. Just whenever i feel like it so sometime some species go months without food. | |

| Randomly is a good idea but sometimes its easier to do the "rounds" in this household then try to mix it up. But then again they all mix it up at different times by fasting hehe xxx | |

| Haha thats true but the longer the scorpion stays plum the higher chance it has of dying. But most of my inverts are kept at room temp. And connie its not that hard to feed randomly. I keep my roaches outside right before I enter the house and I grab a handfull and depending on what size roaches i got I see what need feeding. | |

| its a good idea. I might start making it a bit more random. I put crickets in this morning for the pandinus scorplings. typical. one is currently moulting! | |
