| Hi all,
I've done some searching but come up short -- any ideas on the gestation of C. hentzi? I put mine together around October 11 of last year, and I've got a pretty pudgy-looking female. Frankly I'm surprised she hasn't popped already, as I put my B. jacksoni together just under two months ago and one female looks even fatter than the C. hentzi.
Thanks for any insights.

| to be really honest, i am not even sure how long their gestation is for. That is my weakest knowledge of any invert (lilbit better with T's though). All I know is I have them to mate sometime before winter hits and usually end up having the momma's popping out anywhere between mid March to early may. Not all of my females pop out at the some area of time.
I hope this will give you some kind of an idea.
Also i do know if you give ya hentzi a cooling off period , you'll have better luck.
By doing this you will have to drop down the temp to around 30 to 40 degrees, might even be lower , you will have to play around at different times iguess. I know i would have to

| Hmm. . . maybe I should stick her out on the patio for a while. How long? I'm scared of it getting too cold at night. | |

| now careful of not leaving them procted from any frost, place something around them
if this fails, let me know and will see about replacing what was lost
i know a in Missouri who winterizes his scorpions by placing them in his garage, even during the snow days

| Well, I've never visited the south, so I didn't know how cold it gets there. How long of a cooling period do you recommend? Days, or will a couple of hours jump-start her? | |

| i am not too sure on this bro all i know i know a few people who will do the cooling periods for a coupls of months\
like one pseron places all of his inverts in the garage during the cold months
and another guy will place his inverts in a frig on a set temp for a couple of months and then bring them out to warm up for a month and then mimic the rainy season (not by dumping out a gallon of water into the tank) by sptinkling water into their enclosure to get them to drop out a sac from their T's or for scorpions have to to drop out babies
I have never done this before, but these two methods from the guys i know are much more advance than i am with the cooling off periods

| I talked to Brian S about it, and he said that if she's been warm all winter it would be a bad idea to cool her down now. So I'll just leave her and see what happens (Brian called this "uncharted territory," and that whatever happens will be noteworthy for that reason). | |

| Brian does know what he is talking about. He is one of the main people i have learned from about scorpions.
All i was telling ya what i knew about cooling off periods, like i have mentioned before " i never tried that before.
