Norway is now working on an positive-list over scorpions and other inverts, im not to shure what it going to be.
If its going to be ilegal to have "Bad" (androctonus, leiurus and the other "bad scorpions") scorpions, or if its just a positive-list over whats going to be legal to import.

Anyways, i think this is a shame, its not legal to have anything in Norway Bang Head
Except dogs, cats, horse and all the (fury-animals) not even all of the fury animals are legal.

I'm glad im moving out of this EDIT country soon!

Just be happy that you dont live in Denmark

Denmark have banned all these
Androctonus spp., Buthus spp., Centruroides spp., Tityus spp., Hottentotta spp., Leiurus spp. og Parabuthus spp

but your still allowed to keep alot of orther sp that can cause serious damage but the law about the scorps and stuff was made by 3 ppl in Denmark that knew nothing about inverts so they just looked abit on what had some kill reports behide it and banned it.. such a shame..

Yes there is a lot of ignorance by 'officials' when it comes to inverts.

It makes me laugh about the british DWA licensing. There are more Tarantula's available that will cause more damage without killing you than some buthids. And its perfectly legal to have them, but a buthid scorpion with roughly the same potency as say... an ornimental sp of T, Is illegal to have.

Its pure madness!

Boils down to my hidden gripe about busybodies in high places that have nothing better to do with their time and make up rules and regulations about inverts based on pure ignorance!

right feel better now lol! Rolling Eyes

While it is today illegal to have reptiles in norway, the government estimates that there is today 100.000 illegal reptiles in Norway. Hobby organizations estimates that there are around 200000 reptiles in Norway. Although they confiscate and kill several reptiles, it becomes more and more of them.
If they prohibit any species, it will take several years before they have trained someone to see the difference between the forbidden and the legal species.
I will continue to keep the animals I want, no matter what the state decides.

regards
Robin

Im a bit happy today! Very Happy
It will be legal to have "bad" scorpions, but there wil be a positive-list over species whats legal to import whitout problems, and the "bad" scorpions will not be on that positive-list.

But, hey! i dont have to hide my scorpions for people because it ilegal! Very Happy
