Gunna be a mummy again!

Yup, proud to announce that my female WD is pregnant again and should be dropping her eggs soon.

Cant wait for the pitter patter of little scaley feet again!

Anybody interested in buying one please pm me, it will be a first come first served basis so get your name down early. Last year my juvi's flew out like hot cakes!

She usually drops about 9 eggs of which 7 usually survive, one is already reserved. They will be ready to go to their new homes in march 2009

Felt her belly today coz she was looking plump and can feel the eggs, pretty well developed so i recon she's drop in next week or so.

Que incubator and sorting out another viv to but scatty (the female) Otherwise grizwald will be like a dog on heat as soon as she's dropped!

I know it defo weird how we were talking about it and bang.. she's gravid! she's been a bit greedy lately and had moderated her food... but she was getting bigger. I can feel 4 eggs very well in her belly so it looks like its going to be a good number of eggs. If I can feel 4 then there's 9-10+ eggs in her i recon.
She's now stopped eating crickets and will only eat occasional wax worms or hoppers/locusts, which is a good indication she's due to drop soon.

Nice! Water dragons are so funny to watch.

I've had hours of fun watching my baby WD's. The Daddy (grizwald) when he was younger got fishing off to an art form. every night he would poise on the branch above the aquarium waiting for a fish and dive-bomb onto it! Wicked!!!

you let him run around your house eating your fish?!?!

no they have a full working aquarium in their viv. Promotes natural behaviour and makes for a VERY happy dragon

and it looks pretty kool from what iv seen especially wi that fat fish in there. you should post the pic u sent me with the few hatchlings standing on the sleeping ones lol

awww congrats! baby lizards are ultra cute.

Just an update, scatty has started digging so have put a shed load of peat in the viv. going to video the egg laying this time. So from now onwards were going to have some eggs pretty soon. incubator up and running.

Actually hoping that she doesn't have them while tomorrow... i have no moss to cover the eggs lol! So will be running to garden centre in the morning lol!

why do you cover your eggs lol thats weird

because without anything covering them they dry out, and you cant directly spray them because the eggs will die and go moldy.

the eggs need damp all around them so you bury them in vermiculite so only the top 1/4 is showing. then cover them with moss.

Someone told me once not to bother with the moss and i lost a clutch of eggs.

fair enough, as you knw beardies are my main breeders so iv never needed to do that lol

Next update....

Scatty laid 9 very strong white eggs about 5 minutes ago. All in good shape.

So now they're in the incubator and in about 85 days we should have the pitter patter of little lizard feet... Cant wait lol!

now i can get excited too lol, oh and im sure they will be ok without the moss until tomorrow, there high white haha im guessing she had a nice calcium rich diet then.

yay! as i said before baby lizies are really cool.

I feed the crickets on cricket formula (t-rex one) and dust them with a touch of calcium at feeding time. then they get a treat of locust or jumbo meal worms with a dusting of ACE high. Found this works really well, the colours under the necks are really bright and vivid.

I like to see pure white eggs because it means you've got it right! Its taken me a few years to get the supplements tailored just right. Cant beat experience
