Who keeps so theese animals at home? I have read there are a lot of people in the USA who keeps raccoons.

And what about raccoons in USA? There are many raccoons live in towns like cats, no? Why is illegial to keep they at home?

Coati and other members of raccoon family are very interesting and intelligence creatures, like a dog.

I dont know why. Personally I dont see why someone would want a raccooon...maybe a mancoon? but I cant see the appeal for a raccooon..too agressive!

There are some peaople who keep it at home. And yes, raccoons are more aggressive than coati. Maine coon is the cat breed (very nice).
Opossums in the wild are aggressive too, but look at this:

I see them as roadkill constantly.

I was driving at like 11 at night and then it was a busy street but that late there was no cars and there was a line of racoons crossing the street, like the mom with all the kids following her. I had to stop as if waiting for a train to pass.

in usa Illegal bc its wild life but a coti would be all right depending the state you live in

They are biggest domestic cats, that's cool, but they are not agressive and it is very strange that maine coon attacked you.
