i made the labels by myself. you can use my photoshop template:

I have just been rehousing and redoing some of the little ones and their terrariums. Soil, sand, roots and tools everywhere for a little while.
Result is something like this:
(yes, they are in an IKEA shelf in my living room. )


The top pyramid belongs to my faithful G. Rosea.
Top left is for my emperors, top right is for B. Smithi, bottom left is B. Albopilosum and the last one is for my A. Australis which hopefully will move in on thursday.

Closer look on the emperors' hideout. Guess where they are ALL the time....

Also a little petbox which is housing a A. Amoreuxi atm. Have a simular one for my H. Paucidens and a slightly smaller for my fully grown Euscorpius.
They will, in time, move into some better and bigger terrariums.

My Expanded Arachnid Rack
I’ve been meaning to post this up for awhile, but I’ve been kept busy with work-related stuff and I needed time for this system to come together. When it finally did, the rack expansion worked itself into a practical efficient system of storing and managing my invert collections; helping to cut feeding and cleaning time from 3 hours of my life to 1.


Adjacently located to my pc station, the rack extension also serves as a platform for me to perform all my invert chores without getting down on all fours.


Penthouse Suites: The other side of the penthouse level is covered by a towel to provide shade for Angie’s (H. spinifer) maternity crib (far right). I can lift the towel to view the window to her burrow. On the left is the 7i tank where I currently keep 3 of her babies that have reached 7th instar,


Here is a closeup of the 7i tank for which I finally constructed a snug secure lid.


Side by side of this is a low tank where I house my WC spinifer: Dusun. She was caught as a 5th instar and after 3 molts has recently become a full-fledged adult (my girl… is all grown up).


Her tank’s top is weighted down with a chop board on top of which I’ve put the two jars housing my Orange Hairy Thelcticopis modesta (visible) and my recently deceased Lichen huntsman Pandercetus sp.


Snuck in between Angie’s birthing crib and the 7i tank is the cubicle for my Borneo trapdoor spider (unidentified).


Before I forget the loft is where I stash the monster jars; housing my Giant Green Huntsman Heteropoda boiei, and my undescribed Malaysian Black and Gold arboreal tube-builder.


Below the penthouse lies the heart and most essential component of the my rack system: the supply depot. Here is where I stash ready to be used tupperwares, plastic cubicles, jars, packs of substrate and bark pieces ready for use, tweezers, tongs, flashlights, water sprinklers, crix and mealworm supplies and every conceivable item for all my invert needs.

I even have a standby tank (topped with the white lid with two square tupperware stacks on top) for the random sizable critter caught from any herping trips. The only pets I keep on this level are 3 red Scolopendra centipedes in the cylindrical tub with the blue lid.

At the bottom of this is where I’m temporarily boarding a female Albino Burmese Python molurus bivittatus share-owned by me and two other of me mates. We’re planning to fatten her up for breeding with a male Green patternless Burmese. Can’t wait to see what the babies will look like.


The extended rack/workbench, which I mentioned earlier, has been an absolute convenience wonder to all my invert chores. Below that is where I house all my miniature knights and scorplings of the great black forest battle tanks.


Right underneath the workbench is my Liocheles dresser where I stash individual housing cases of my Dwarf Wood Scorpion collections which include two subspecies: L. australasiae australasiae and L. australasiae borneoensis. Each individual is labeled with its capture location.


The dresser drawers house all my adults individually in business card jewel cases; two cases per drawer in six drawers housing a total of 12 breeding adults.

After experimenting with many types of containers including cotton bud dispensers, I’ve found business card jewel cases to be the best enclosures for housing this species by far. After transferring my Dwarf woodys into these, I almost immediately had multiple births.


These plastic combo units are ideal for housing my successfully raised batches of captive hatched Dwarf Woodys which are currently close to adulthood. These units are available at most hardware stores.


On the left wing of this level are my betta boxes where I house my Sarawakian leaf liter amblypigids Sarax sp., in the 1st two and the WC Chaerilus sp. mother with babies. The plastic water tub is to safe guard against the onslaught of ants.


On the other side of the Liocheles dressers are miscellaneous Heterometrus scorps. The critter keepers houses my 2 longimanus scorplings I got from my dad last Xmas (love you dad). The wide ‘rubbermaid’ holds 5 of Angie’s kids at 6th instar. On top of that are two tupperwares housing 3 unidentified Heterometrus scorplings of . The one on the left is my probable laoticus, and the one on the right houses a pair of 3rd instar Het scorplings whose identity I’m still absolutely clueless.


Below the dresser level is a display tank currently housing 6 of Angie’s kids at 6th instar.


On the side are my 3 WC Vinegaroons whose species still eludes me. The plastic tupperware contains a WC specimen from Kemensah in Peninsular Malaysia while the other two are WC specimens from Borneo. I’m keeping them individually until I have confirmed their species and sex.


Finally, behind the display tank are 2 critter keepers where I keep a store-bought Vinegaroon and a male Liphisitus malyanus (Malaysian trapdoor) which I’m temporarily boarding until a potential female is found.

In addition to this I have breeding pairs of H. spinifers, a Lierus qionquestriatus, a Spitting Cobra Naja sumatrana, a Reticulated Python Python reticulatus and 11 water snakes (Homalopsinae) of different species not housed on this rack.

I scraped the modernist artistic enclosure I was planning for my b. jacksoni colony and decided to go with a naturalistic set up. This is what I have so far. Sand/coco fiber substrate, cork bark round where I can put a plant, mini rock water dish and a cool tambori log to play on






Still need to find plants and a cool background...I have the blue nocturnal LEDs which just look awesome on the white sand! More to come as it evolves.

That would be sweet! I'm going to check Home Depot for some cool looking ceiling tile. I saw some that looked like textured rock in a restuarant ceiling...I thought they all just looked like white cork panels

I am going to look for Kilamanjaro colors...what color are the rocks and sand in east Africa...lol

Got 5 H.cyaneus home the orther day.. and had one at home

so i desided to make a communal tank for them check it out
sadely i ran out of dirt so i desided to use the old dirt from the tank i had older H.cyaneus in

sadely today 2 were dead.. not from fighting.. they was kinda slugish from the drive and stuff..

C.Hentzi encloser. Its not as fancy as most but I am hoping it gets the job done. The purple sand looked cool and I hoped it would make them easier to see but with the coco fiber in it not a chance...

CZlover: Hi, welcome to the forum. Set - ups look good. Do you use a heat mat? If so, is it on the side of the tank?

Actually, I do not use a heat mat. I live in Phoenix, AZ so my room is at 80-81 Degrees F all day and all night right now. When it gets allittle cooler in my room at night I have a lamp and a infered blub to heat the right side of the tank. Which raises the temp to around 85*F.

The Breeding Rack: Heterometrus spinifer

With 4 of Angie's brood ready for breeding it was high-time to consider converting the other long 4ft tank into multiple section for individual housing. After profuse deliberation I opted for plastic dividers instead permanent glass ones. The advantage was to be able to alter the divisions later to cater for changing requirements. The downside was that these barriers were not exactly scorpion-proof.

To ensure that they wont squeeze through the sides or move the dividers, they are pinned by suction cups and piece of plastic tubing cut length-wise to stuff the gap at the walls. After some observation with live scorpions, even my confidence was secured. The first 4 cubicles house Angie's 4 matured daughters. The 5th contains a female I picked up on sale at some pet store. Angie herself occupies a larger section at the end. Way pass her age and still going strong.

HOT SHELF

This wall-mounted shelf suspends my feistier brutes away from the reach of the young and/or clumsy. They are sturdier than I would imagine so but still I don't intend to push the boundaries. Preferably for lighter or not-so-heavy things.

This is what you see when you step in straight from the door to my apartment.


The Penthouse Suite

I put the Emperor enclosure here hoping that the live plant will get enough sunlight from my balcony across the living room. I also put my Hadogenes paucidens on this level. One female in an individual tank behind it and a pair in the larger tank to the left. I know their not communal but this pair gets along pretty well when given ample space and hiding places. The solo female is larger and wants a piece of both of them.

Below that is Eleanor's Brood and my Liocheles drawers conveniently stacked.

Underneath that I stashed my 3 Vinegaroons and my terrarium supplies

Circling around my 2ft Het community, here is my O. boehmi tank and my maurus sand bins; all the burrowers together,

and the longimanus pair on the side of the planted community.

Above this, flanking my work bench is my Haddy with a temporary lid. This is thye 3rd time I redid her tank to get the right substrate conditions for burrowing. This tank is HEAVY!

Up on the right of it behind the Emperor crib is the ravenous single female flat-rock. In the little flask just in view behind the Haddy tank is my last C. hentzi (female).

At the very bottom is the a divided 2ft and 3 individual enclosures to the side where I have some Heterometrus species awaiting Identification...


On the opposite wall is my old Scorp shelf which used to be inside the pet room know turned snake room


Arachnid Shelf

The experimental tank is a project I'm undertaking for a friend to make a semi-aquatic setup for Dolomedes water spiders. In between that and the Brood R tank are 3 flask containing a juvenile pede (Scolopendra sp.), an Orange Huntsman (Thelcticopis modesta), and a Badge Huntsman (Neosparassus sp.). The red critter keeper in between Brood S and H is an anomaly coming soon to a theater near you.

Special Care Unit

On top is where I house my most precious jewels.

I fret to admit that with new things coming in, some of this will be subject to change. My spinifer broods and tarantulas will soon need bigger housing as the grow. But at least for now, I have everything in its appropriate place... for now "twitch, twitch"
