Guess what I did...

I got a ball python today. I went out for fish medicine and I was going to get some finches (I bought the food and cage and all for it). Lo and behold we come home with:





And she also dropped a huge turd on the floor. (They said they just fed her yesterday, does that mean she'll be hungry soon?)

That means she'll be hungry in a couple months. I hope you did your research before getting her.

I know how to take care of snakes (I worked at a petstore for a while), I never had to feed the snakes since I mostly worked nights. It's still young so I'll try to feed her next week. ("Her" is very tentative, I have no idea how to sex snakes)

i used the "popping" teqnique to determine the sex of my snakes.

A snake that big can go a month between meals easily.

And I think popping only works on smaller species, such as corns. You may have to probe, but I'd suggest having a professional do it so you don't accidentally injure it.

you can pop pretty much any snake, but still its much safer to go to the vet and have him probe, its really easy to do but if you dont have much exp with them id get a vet to show you it first, mike is right it should be fine for a month depending on how big his last meal was, for example on of mine had to have a mouse once cuz the store had no rats, 1 week later fed another mouse, however normally with the right food its once a month but they would roam there tanks restlessly if they were really really hungry
