| Mine are hitting 5i or so, and I've decided to give sexing them a try.
One's a 13, one's a 14. I cant find any sources online of a tooth count for this specie, let alone this genus. Anyone know of a source?
Thanks | |

| Not sure, but you don't need the tooth count for this species. You can tell sex by the size of the metasomal segments.
Bad picture, but here's a male... http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?151129-Sexing-H.-paucidens
And here's my female http://www.scorpion-forum.com/t10294-got-my-h-paucidens
Weren't you the one that taught me that? Lol.

| mine are like 4th and 5th instars... their tails are almost the exact same size. hah. that works for adult specimen, but I distinctly mentioned having juvis | |

given it wasn't labeled a juvi, I assumed adult. I don't know if they're like centrurodies in that the dimorphism is kinda evident at an.instar before maturity, but yours regardless is much much larger than my scorplings are. I can post pics of my juvis tonight to show ya. but it is nice to know the pectin count regardless of an outside dimorphism because outside of an overlap, pectines are the most accurate way to sex. em.

| Grom, I think they overlap I remember vaguely reading a paper that had males listed between 13-17 and females between 12-15 I can't recall where I got this info or even if my numbers are correct I'll try to get more info on that. | |
