| Pics of the enclosure/tank set up will help. They need to be kept on a substrate that will hold humidity/moisture...Eco Earth, coco fiber or peat (without fertilizer, pesticides or additives) are good choices...Sand is not good for Emperors. Temps should be around 80F to 85F in the enclosure. Hope that helps. A clear picture of the scorpion will help us know more. Don't worry if it hasn't eaten in a week...Emps can go along time without food and can be weird that way. | |

| Not eating for a week isn’t a big deal. But if it’s starting to walk limp and it starts dragging it’s tail then it might not have long to live. | |

| Yep. Substrate should be thick enough to burrow in. A few inches should do it. Hides are good, but all the emps I have ever had like to burrow under their hides also. Also, as a gauge for humidity, the substrate should be moist at all times... Where you can feel it wet when you touch it, but not pooling water or dripping when you pick it up. If you squeeze the substrate and it drips, that's fine. As long as it doesn't drip on its own when you hold it. | |

| yeah atleast 3-4 inches if dirt, and make it damp but not soaking wet. if its too wet your emp wont burrow in it but if its just damp it will make a burrow. | |
