Yes i know stupid me!

I was observing my community of Lq's and i noticed one just lying tail relaxed. I blew on it and it remained motionless so i picked it onto my palm. It then "revived" and started crawling on my hand. I didn't panic but was very careful so as not startle it so I kept my eyes focused on it and then set it down back in the tank. I guess i put my hand on a Lq on the way down and as the one that was crawling down came off that one stung me. I had about 2 hours of sleep that day and after a sharp pain that lasted 45 minutes from my fingers to my elbow. I just went to sleep. I'm not sure if the venom was to blame or I was just very exhausted. The scorpion that got me was an adult.

This is a very noob question but are stings from medically significant scorpions only lethal if the person is young, elderly or ill then because I was under the impression that a sting from this species would kill? Also, would a sting from members of the Adroctonus genus always be lethal without treatment or just to the more vulnerable groups mentioned?

I apologise if this sounds ignorant but I don't know. Cheers.

it's not lethal but it increases your mortality rate drastically if you are a child, elderly, allergic or health compromised. if you are a healthy adult without any complications then you wont die but it will sure hurt like hell

LQ's are communal? I always thought they were solitary.

Can be kept in groups of 3 in a ten gallon with no problems if I'm correct.

Maybe I'm grave digging a thread (no pun intended!), but I though LQ stings were VERY bad. Did you have any long lasting effects from the sting? Thanks.

This sting wasn't as bad as the one I got from C.sculpturatus...most likely it was less venom injected. I have a shoulder pain to this day...not sure if it's sting related...probably isn't

I guess that shows that scorp stings can vary a lot. I have never had an Arizona Bark scorp but I've heard their stings are really painful. Thanks.
