A ways back about a year, a good friend ask me to take care of his Emp which i thought i heard him mention was a male. though I had my doubts even if i never did a ventral inspection.
I housed it in a small Exxoterra with ample substrtate depth and a stater burrow under a solid driftwood piece. On various occasions I experimented with live plants in this tank. The scorpion dug the burrow to the bottom of the tank right up to the glass. I taped the burrow over to give it some assurance of its burrow placement. It was a good way to monitor it frequently. No expectations what so ever.
6-12-2009 - Contemplating taking the Emp out to an exhibition, but a removing of the burrow 'blind' revealed that she had babies on her back.
Roughly 4 or 5 scorplings in this initial inspection but subsequent inspection proved that she had more coming.
10-12-2009 Babies are still on mother's back. Mother has refused food.
15-12-2009 - Babies have molted to 2i. Feeder crix introduced. Mother eviscerates crix for scorplings.
Deliberating next course of action.......
