He's been sitting like this a lot. Not every day. But i've seen him sit like this a few times.

He just resting? He's perfectly active, he just seems to "sleep" like this once in a while.

Just resting. Ive seen mine rest like that before, sometimes resting like that vertically up the glass.....I would suggest you wait for other replies but to me, scorpion looks fine.
Tail out FLAT means death. Tail is still curled and they control the tails all the time, so I would say everything is fine

Yeah i've seen the flat out before my P. Boreus died.

Just figured he was uncomfy or something.

Humans relax their muscles when dead, scorpions and their tails are the same the way I see it.
In any position and tail is still being supported then the scorpion is ok and as you have witnessed before, out flat means scorpy no more.

My female H. longimanus does that sometimes when I lift up her hide -- but it was because she was pressed against it when I lifted it.

Was yours doing that out in the open?
