Another new to scorpions thread

You have probably seen a hundred of these already but I want to make sure I am doing everything right. I bought my little guy about a week ago he might be a inch and a half big so just a young guy. I set up a 10 gallon tank I had and I have a heat lamp I did do a lot of research before I got him and did read that they are nocturnal. I have a heat lamp and a red 60 watt light to heat the tank. I have read that you can use red lights it wont bug them that much but is that true? Not many people do it as I noticed and I really don't want to irritate him. He is eating I do have to help him out with it putting the cricket or meal worm in his claw but he normally doesn't go after his food. I think he did once and he really never comes out of the slanted rock I put up. He just stays there all day and sometimes night so I have to lift up the rock and feed him which I know is stressful to move his environment. I don't know if maybe it is the light is irritating him. If so I probably need a heat pad which I will get tomorrow if you guys tell me that the light isn't going to work. I am using peat moss which I have read that a lot of emperor scorpions owners use. and a shallow water dish. I think that about what covers whats in my tank I am going to put pictures of my tank up so you guys can tell me if I am doing anything wrong. I know I don't have a thermometer I use just a regular one that I stick in the substrate to read temp.

The heat light is useless unless where you live is very cold. The dirt looks pretty dry and shallow. Other than that I don't see a problem.

I live in Minnesota and its already 25 degrees outside. So maybe it will help a little? Thanks for the info he im afraid that he might not molt because of lack of moisture. Ill put more water in the substrate and put another inch down.

Double the depth of the substrate. The red light is fine, scorpions can't see in that part of the spectrum. I can't see how dry it looks.

If he's not eating, don't worry. Scorpions fast all the time, especially leading up to a molt.
