i raised 1.1 Sicarius hahni (Namibia) from slings. they grow adult in about a year. i haven't noticed any aggressive or mating behaviour, after introducing the male into the females enclosure. everytime i was observing, they just did what they do all the time, hiding buried in sand, pretty boring spiders to keep. Wink
3 weeks later, she started building an egg sac. i'll keep you updated as soon as the spiderlings hatch.

That is wild. You need to Photoshop a cigarette into her mouth on the pic where she is sprawled out under the egg sac tongue

Shocked

Even though I've attempted to breed widows, I think I'd require a change of pants if I came home and saw that.

I mean, um, congratulations on the successful brood! cheers

that's awesome, you sharing the wealth? I've been fascinated by the sub-genus Sicarius for a while. My favorite is Sicarius terrosus. The problem it that whenever somebody gets one in, they don't plan on parting with it and nobody's breeding them out here to my knowledge. Yes, I'm late seeing this thread but I just don't give a crap.

It was great a year and a half ago when we were progressing but now, the honeymoon is over and it's grown stagnant. I'm out of here, this place has become a breeding ground for idiots with no controls set. I'll be where the science and hobby is progressing not regressing.
