Just curious.

Is the care for the young different from adults to get the young to molt properly?

How often do the adults have to be fed to prevent cannibalism?

And will the adults cannibalize the young?

Thanks!

They might cannibalize as with any scorpion, but are not likely. I feed mine once a week just as long as you don’t starve them for months I think they’ll do just fine

And is there anything I should do for molting? I did hear that even though a water source isn't necessary, a bowl with water gel may work.

Some of the info I'm getting is from this guy's video:

no water gel it holds bacteria. You can mist once a week and get some water on the glass they can drink fine like that. I actually just recently took a picture of mine drinking. The mist will also help with molting.

I wouldn't trust any advice from the guy in the video. He uses needle nose pliers to "tail" his scorpions when moving them. Bad idea.

Yeah I don’t think that guy knows much about what he’s talking about. Personally I would use sand. I use moist peat and allow it dry out completely. I’ll leave the enclosure dry for anther week and repeat the process. I’ll post that picture up later I have my sd card at work.

I'm planning on a mix of sand, excavator and a bit of coco fiber for my C. sculpt enclosure. Did you mean you would or would not use sand, Abyss? I have a shallow water dish to provide some light humidity and drinking water. They are housed individually right now...I was surprised that they do drink readily when water is offered once a week.

I should clarify I wouldn't only use sand. I use a sand coco fiber mix

And I'm going to assume that any juveniles can molt should be kept separate?

That's what I do with most of my desert species. I use that excavator clay and mixed with coco fiber. Like a 40/60 mix. It's a good mix and great for burrows.

And do I have to remove the babies after they get off mom's back to prevent cannibalization?

Coco fiber or peat moss? Which one is better?

You don't have to, but some say it is better.

The substrates you list are basically the same thing.

Coco fiber and peat moss are just used for humidity, correct?

If it was say, a deathstalker, coco fiber or peat moss wouldn't be used, right?

And about 60% or less humidity sounds right for AZ bark scorpion?

I just want to confirm everything first.

Definitely provide a water dish and you could mist one side wall of the enclosure once a week. Mine drink pretty readily. They seem to be more tolerant of a bit of humidity. I'd say 60% is okay...just make sure they can grab a drink if needed.
