Which are your most aggressive Scorpions?

Yesterday i walked up to my adult female Hadrurus arizonensis enclosure, and she run up at the glass smashing it with her chelae and trying to smash her tail through the door.

Never new Haddies had this temperament,

Any of you had a similar experience with this species or other scorps? If so what species and how aggressive are they?

Most of the Opistophthalmus species I have seen are mental and they stridulate with their chilecerae. Sounds like a little chainsaw coming at you.

It varies from species to species and on individual basis. I’m writing up some notes right now as we speak on my G.grandidieri and even though they are buthids and the same genus as my G.ankarana’s there are very docile. I even “pet” one over the weekend where I ran my finger down it’s back and it barely moved. The younger specimens of this species are a little more jumpy and quick to hide but the adults freeze up when they sense me. Very unlike the G.ankarana which shows aggressive behavior at all stages. Although they are hesitant to sting, they’ll stand their ground but when push comes to shove they rather run off than attack.

I'm interested in knowing as well. The aggressiveness makes it more likely to attack the prey. And it looks more exciting that way.

my Liocheles waigiensis is a very skittish little fella. the most alert of all my scorps and quick to turn and pinch. thanks goodness they're not dangerous

Buthus ibericus are without a doubt the most defensive and quick to sting scorpions I have ever come across. The tiniest breath of air often results in a lightning fast backwards flick of the tail.

Pandinus ugandaensis are also very highly strung. They're a large species and so are quite formidable when defending themselves (for a creature that size). Very entertaining to work with.

I second Buthus ibericus. Kept one for a while and it was lightning fast. This female haddie is different though. Less of a defensive type behaviour but its like its trying to attack me. I may look like a cricket lol
