Lesson Brown Scorpion (Isometrus maculatus)

just bought a pair 5 hours ago.. like most arboreal species, they usually have poor appetites and mine seem to befriend some of the cricket nymphs lol

I.mac was my first guess but then I thought lychas too.

haha! the lychas sp that we locally have here are pale yellow rather than the light brown i.mac or dunno coz this is a 6i pair that might look like a lychas when they turn 7i soon lol

I say they look like a lychas, with a centruoides tail length. Is it the males with the impressive pedipalp length or females?

@ Patcho, males will be more slender, and have more elongated pedipalps and metasomas, just as in Centruroides.

This is a cool species. Definitely one to look out for. How common are they in the hobby?

Not as much as they should be...or were a few years ago. But as far as locations go...they're everywhere!

thanks! they're a very sexually dimorphic species. so easy to tell sexes apart

thanks patcho hopefully i get to breed them though they are parthenogenic i think

i believe you when you say everywhere. this pair was caught in my friend's bathroom just a couple of blocks from where i'm staying hahaha
