PostSubject: preserved p.cavimanus   2/14/2013, 1:53 am

thought id share this, i bought an adult male p.cavimanus a while back but unfortunatley it died.
i found it on it's side one evening twitching but it perked up an was moving fine after a night in ICU but kicked the bucked by the time i got home the next day.
i decided i wanted to preserve it rather that just throw it away an this is the result

came out ok for a first attempt an is currently sat on the side in my living room

Nice job. The worst part when I preserved one of my scorpions was taking out the guts... not nice.

i think it may have been that thread i found when searching how to do it online.
i didn't have any blue tack so left the claw's closed i also threaded a thin bit of wire into his tail with a T shaped bend on the inside to hold it up.
was going to fix him to a flat bit of wood but nicked the bit of wood from one of my snake's viv's to mount him on.
it still glow's under UV light i thought that would fade once they passed away
