PostSubject: Opinions of Shipping Scorpions   2/2/2013, 6:17 pm

Ok...so my tank is semi ready, just awaiting the heat pad and hide...should be here Monday or so. Now, I live at the beach and can find hermit crabs in about 20 stores not 5 miles away from my house. headb However, finding a emperor scorpion is a different story apparently. Of course, I'm not planning to get one until the tank is 100% complete....duh , but the closest store I have found is about 50 miles away! I can drive there if I need to, but was wondering if anyone has had any luck with shipping an emp? If so, which website is recommended? I viewed a couple of sites and was put off by the fact that they knew less than I do about scorpions by saying the emps were very aggressive study ...gotta love the internet. Anywho, any opinions would be appreciated.

Yeah, Ken has a listing for juvies. Swiftinverts has CB babies as well. I saw someone selling some very reasonably priced adults on another forum, though I'm not sure if he's a member here or not.

You could always make a "WTB" post in the Classifieds - For Sale or Trade section of this forum too, and see if you get any responses.

(WTB = Want To Buy)

EDIT: Getting scorpions shipped to you usually isn't a problem. My current collection of specimens have all been shipped to me. So long as you don't mind the shipping fees...usually you have to order using overnight, or 2 to 3 day shipping. Cost and shipping times may vary from vendor to vendor.

Thanks for the info! I was just concerned that the shipping process may be stressful and that is the last thing I wanna do. I will take a look into Ken's listing. Again, thanks!

Just about any reptile/invert site has P. imps, but ken probably has the best quality. What ever you do stay away from a website called (Backwater Reptiles). And good luck with the emp!
