Emp Sling questions Empty
PostSubject: Emp Sling questions   Emp Sling questions Empty11/21/2012, 11:32 am

okay my female emperor scorpion had her babies a while back,.. about 21 slings,..
when they turned 2i i separated them for better survival,.. last September they molted to 3i Smile
however there are 2 scorpion slings that still haven't molted yet,..
they were all fed the same diet at the same time as its their feeding schedule,..
is there something wrong with them? or are they just late bloomers?
its been 8 weeks already and they still haven't molted,..

Apart from being fed with the same diet and at the same feeding schedule. Were the temperature and substrate condition being kept the same?

Even if the above answer is yes, it's not uncommon for a few "late bloomers" within a larger brood of seemingly "normal" specimens.

+1

I've got a couple of AFS specimens that seem to be exactly 1 molt "late" from their simblings. I.e. once the last one of their siblings molt to 4i and 5i, these guys molted 5 days later to 3i and 4i Smile

both yes Smile i've kept them at the same temp and at the same substrate conditions, because i measured the coco peat substrate so its even on all enclosures, and the amount of misting on the side of the enclosure is also fixed,..
maybe they are just late bloomers Smile

Maybe they'll do the same Smile ahah did you separate them? or are they all at the same tank? Smile

Rosie turned 7i mid year last year,.. can she still handle another brood? should i still introduce another male?
their lifespan is only 3 years right? i think she's already 2 years last year or so but i'm not sure the seller isn't replying anymore XD haha

Once a scorpion has a brood she isn't going to molt anymore. They are mutually exclusive. If your scorpion isn't fully developed she will still be molting and be incapable of having offspring. If she has had babies she will not be molting.
