Some Questions

Thinking about getting an Emperor Scorpion. Just a few questions:
How often would I have to change the substrate(coconut fiber)/clean its habitat?
What is the best and most effective way to provide heat? Heat pads?.. Lamps?.. I live in Seattle, Washington. Gets pretty chilly here.
How do you create humidity...? Do you literally just spray the enclosure with water? (btw, I know that you give the scorpion treated water for drinking because tap water makes them sick, so if I spray the enclosure to provide humidity, would that water also need to be treated?)

Most of the answers you are looking for can be found with a quick search or even reading the ASA on Forest scorpions. But a clean up and change of substrate is recommended every 6 months but Ive heard some people say they do it once a year or longer.

I like heat lamps. The IR ones that cast red light. That way I can watch my scorpions at night in the bit of light they put out and can see where the heat is focused.

Yes you just spray the walls and floor of the enclosure. Your scorpion doesn't mind tap water. It won't hurt it. Lots of people use distilled water for misting and drinking because regular water has calcium and other minerals in it. The stuff that makes that white hard to see through stuff on your aquarium walls. It's removed in the distilling process making it easier to keep your glass clean.
