Question

Hey guys I have a tarantula in a small plastic container who is about 3 inches maybe a little less I was thinking of moving him into a bigger container (kritter Keeper) so I can maintain heat a little bit better my house gets to about 64 or 63 degrees as the low. I have a mexican red knee tarantula spiderling. Here is the picture of the cage I was hoping to move him into as well as the spiderling. Thank you. (Dont mind the substrate im cleaning the whole thing and starting new).



Dont mind the molted skin its cleaned up and everything.

I think it would be OK to move him if that would allow you to better maintain a good temp, but I don't think he needs a larger enclosure otherwise just yet.

Thanks ya I was thinking the same but I dont know its hard to decide. Also would you happen to know how much I should feed my spiderling a week. I heard some people speed up there growth by feed them a cricket every day or so.

You can't really feed a spiderling too much......the reason people "power feed" them is to get them out of their most vulnerable life stage. (Which is when they are still small.) Brachypelmas are pretty hardy spiders though, so unless you want to get it to an adult faster, no need to feed it more than once a week.

Btw, even though it's an arid species, you should have a source of water available for it. A small, plastic water bottle cap should suffice.

Thanks for the info Scorpion I tried feeding him last night which was the day after his last feeding and he wouldnt eat anyway I heard this species isnt very greedy when it comes to food. I think ill just keep to a normal feeding. I know the picture I displayed didnt have a water dish in it but after I had removed the old skin I put a water dish in. Before that I misted so he could drink. Now if I could just get him to stop burying his water dish we will be good

A lot of scorps and T's burry the water dish, but I just keep filling them up!

I do as well I just think its a pretty funny behavior and with mine its every day almost that i have to refill it its like he loves annoying the crap out of me haha
