I have one emp that just isnt acting right. It was eating dirt....or sifting through the dirt looking for something. Does dirt eating happen? Im worried he is going to die.

Dirt does not happen. Not that i have heard of or seen. The closest scenario i can relate with is that your Emp(Pandinus imperator) is probably drinking from the substrate.
The signs leading to death is usually the "dragging of tail" or having their legs curled inwards their body.
To be exact on your query, it would be good if you can capture the "dirt eating " on video.
