PostSubject: Caraboctonus keyserlingi?   Caraboctonus keyserlingi? Empty8/17/2008, 1:51 pm

Bought today. Three in total. One is burried in the sand. I told the shop man not to dig her up. When I change the substrate to a coco fibre and sand mix I will check that "she" is alive. If not, I will get my money back. The two that are out at the moment are currently having a little tiff. Fighting over a hiding spot. Will break and put in some more cork bark! but im annoyed because there is LOADS of slate for them to burrow under like they were in the shop!
I will keep me eye on these little guys as I dont want a death but since the shop has had all three together without problems im hoping its just stress of the move!

I have more pictures but its more of less the same! I hope the pics are big enough to help for an ID. So guys...Caraboctonus Keyserlingi?

they are lovely.
We all in agreement that they are what it "says on the tin".

The possible female is still burried under. Im tempted to dig her out! there isnt even an entrance hole.
The two possible males had little scuffles last night over a hidey hole *plenty to pick from* but one is burried under the water bowl, one under a cork bark hide and female in her place.

Sadly they arent out and about. Was hoping they would be when we get home but no sign of any movement. They must still be settling in!
Also shame I cant enjoy feeding time because the shop put in a LOAD of baby crickets. Not that they will even bother to try to catch those *rolls eyes*

Im sure these guys can EASILY handle a small cricket!

It really is! I can see them running about the tank and they havent died in the water yet *is annoyed* I guess the young crickets have a greater survival instinct!
I think most have them have gone to hide in the cork bark.

well I shall have to wait a couple of months until I can do the feeling *hopefully less time*...and I shall pop in 2 small crickets and watch the lovely drama!

Ive taken the moss out. I hate moss in a tank. but they seem to be alive still!
And not drowned which is even more annoying!

Soon enough all crickets will be gone and then I can take over the feeding and give them something to fight and use their sting for...a small cricket Razz and I will get to see these beautiful scorpions in action.
They are so lovely!
