Try to resize image size to less then 1024 x 768.
Recommended is 800 x 600. Not all of us have super huge LCD display etc to view you know Smile

I've contained them in a spoiler for now.
Do update the pics or simply change them to image hyperlinks.

Nice shots btw.

Wearelegion, is this the one you mentioned?
Considering the "fatness" of the tail and the linings along the femur and patella, it does has more similarities towards Androctonus amourexi than australis.
Still, a beauty!

Actually I agree. It is A. Amourexi. care sheet the same as for Australis? Venom?

Same husbandry as australis. With regards to venom level, i give them the same "double cage" settings as well. For security measures, if you are keeping her in a glass tank enclosure, just ensure the height clearance is there and top lid well secured.

Ok yesterday I finished my new terrarium for my Androctonus Amourexi. Filled with 3mm sand (granules 3mm in size) at the bottom, some coco fiber in the corner and fine desert sant on top of the 3mm sand. I made him a nice hide in the corner below some broken clay. Plant in the other corner towering the water dish..... and so on.....

Well I woke up today and I was shocked. The guy turned the whole terrarium upside down, fine sand was at the bottom, rough sand up, hide was ......well burried I had to dig it out just to find the clay, coco fiber everywhere, water dish full of sand. Terrarium looking like D-day... and AA in the middle spreding his claws and waving his metasaoma at me like he was saying "what are you looking at?"

So I figured he is burrow happy (I actually saw him digging today and as his is fairly big he digs pretty fast and pushing things with his metasoma with ease. I was laughing when he came to a rock 1cm in size, turned his back to it and enveloped it with his metasoma and pulled it out o the corner Shocked ) so I need some suggestions on how and what to mix (concernig substrate) so I get some solid burrowing substrate that will actually allow him to dig some holes and not spred the substrate from one side to another...

Very Happy

Here are some of my scorps. I was practicing my low light skills with the camera. Still need to get a decent camera tripod.

This is my A. Bicolor, P. Transvalicus on third and last pic is of Hottentotta caboverdensis:

I always like how UV light really brings out the finer details like your Hottentotta shot there, nice.

Concerning creating a desert substrate that will hold burrows well, the sand really needs to be made quite moist first, so it sticks together, then packed down into the enclosure so it's compacted. This then needs to dry out completely if it's for scorps prone to mycosis. It really takes a while to properly dry out though, usually a couple of weeks.

I also add in some purposely made Excavator burrowing clay by zoo-med that makes the burrows hold even better, don't need much of it, usually about 1:5. Although I'm not sure how available this is to you, I get it off ebay. I think there is some other stuff you can use instead called Bentonite but I haven't used that before.

Your scorp will be fine without it but it is nice to give to scorps that burrow alot.
