If you know the scientific name that would be great, most of the time common names are junk reallly so many common names can be givin to one species it is very confusing unless you know the scientific name.

Yes they are communal as adults. They are buthids, so the average lifespan is probably around 4-5 years.
You may want to read this: http://www.ntnu.no/ub/scorpion-files/b_jacksoni_info.pdf

As for where to buy them: http://www.swiftinverts.com/
Again, however, they are being sold as babies.

cool i read it alot of usefull information, is a 5.5 gallon tank suitable for a baby scorpion..... im thinking i might just have to get two 5.5 gallon tanks and get 2 babys becuase i dout ill find adults for sale.... since there not comunal when babys and move them into a 10 gallon when they are adults. a 5.5 gallon tank will be too small for a heat emitter it will bake the tank so i could put a heat mat on the side of the tank. a small heat mat will cover the whole side of a 5.5 gallon tank. alright thanks for the information ....

For "baby" scorps rather keep them in small deli cups for now. Much easier to work with them in there imo and they will find food easier.

yeah i was just at petco and a 5.5 galong tank looked like u could keep an adult in there. i was wrong about a small heat mat covering the whole side , a medium would cover the whole side of tank......i cant keep a baby scorpion in a deli cup cuase i dont have a way to get it heat , i dont live in arizona or florida where its hott i would have to get a 2.5 gallon tank. the 2.5 gallon tanks were only 2 dollars cheaper than a 5.5 gallon.
